City park
The City Park, formerly "People's Park", was established at the beginning of the 20th century, on the land belonging to the "Pokój" steelwork.
During World War II, a mini zoo was established on its premises, where you could see foxes, a wolf, raccoons and even a brown bear. In the 1950s, the animals were moved to the zoo in the Provincial Park of Culture and Recreation in Chorzów. Recently, the Park has undergone revitalization. It is also an element of the Rudzki Route, a pedestrian and bicycle path that connected parks, squares, sports facilities and places related to the history of Nowy Bytom and Wirek district.
