FRESCO
The “Fesco” Choir was founded at the end of September 2013. We are based at the Tarnowskie Góry Cultural Centre and are also part of the Silesian Association of Choirs and Orchestras. Our conductor is Jolanta Sznajder.
Our choir brings together people who are young—especially at heart :)—and who share a passion for music and choral singing. Our repertoire includes both sacred and secular works, including arrangements of popular songs and musical theatre pieces. As our name suggests, we seek out new and fresh sounds, wanting to show that choral music doesn’t have to be boring.
Some of our most important performances include:
-
A concert as part of the Annum Festival, where the choir co-performed The Passion according to St. John by J.S. Bach
-
A concert at St. Mary's Church in Katowice, where we performed Missa Brevis by Jacob de Haan
-
Concerts during the festival named after Fr. Teodor Christoph, where we performed both Missa Brevis by Jacob de Haan and Requiem by W.A. Mozart
-
Performances during the Tarnowskie Góry Gwarki festival and local choral showcases
-
Numerous sacred music concerts in nearby churches, as well as in the Cathedral of Saint Eulalia in Barcelona
Among our choir’s achievements are:
-
